Estate Buyout Services in Los Angeles

Private, Confidential Purchases of Antiques, Fine Art, Jewelry, High-End Designer and Vintage Goods, and Entire Estates

Comprehensive Estate Liquidations, LLC provides discreet estate buyout services for families, executors, trustees, and fiduciaries across Los Angeles. A buyout is a direct purchase: we evaluate your estate, make an offer, and, once you accept, pay you and remove the items. It's a faster, more private alternative to a public estate sale.

Buyouts are most often used during estate settlement, downsizing, relocation, and renovation, when timing and privacy matter most. With over 25 years in estate liquidation, fine art, and antiques, we know what valuable pieces are worth and who the right buyers are.

We purchase antiques, fine art, fine jewelry, and high-end designer and vintage goods, and we purchase entire estates, including household contents. We do not purchase individual household items such as furniture, appliances, electronics, or clothing on their own.

Our Disciplined, Efficient Process

Our estate buyout process is intentionally structured for clarity and efficiency:

  • Private Consultation: We assess objectives, timelines, and asset composition.
  • Expert Evaluation: We review and value assets using market intelligence and professional judgment.
  • Formal Offer: We present a clear, fair market offer.
  • Execution & Settlement: Upon acceptance, we’ll issue payment, remove assets, and prepare the residence for sale or transition.

Most buyouts are completed within days, depending on the estate's scope and complexity.

What We Buy & What We Don't Buy

Is a Buyout Right for You?

What we buy

  • Antiques and period furnishings
  • Fine art, sculpture, and limited-edition works
  • Fine jewelry, watches, and precious metals
  • High-end designer goods (handbags, accessories, and furniture by recognized designers or makers)
  • High-end vintage goods and collectibles
  • Entire estates, where household contents are purchased along with the pieces above

What we don't buy

  • Individual household items sold on their own (sofas, bedding, kitchenware, appliances, TVs and electronics, everyday clothing)
  • Items of general or modest value outside of a full-estate purchase

Have a few household items to sell? Local consignment shops, resale stores, and online marketplaces are usually the best fit. Have a full estate or a home's contents to clear? We'd be glad to talk.

How Our Buyouts Work

Buyout Steps For Clients Looking To Have An Offer Made For The Contents Of The Estate
  • Step 1: Submit Photos of the Estate by Email

Client submits 5-15 photos of the estate via email for CEL to review. These photos allow us to gauge the scope of the project and work as an introduction to the property. Give us a call at (310) 935-0688 for email instructions.

  • Step 2: Schedule an On-Site Appointment for CEL to View the Property

This is typically a 30-60 minute meeting where CEL will walk through the home with the client to review the property. During this meeting, we will make the client an offer for either the entire estate or for specific items.

  • Step 3: CEL Collects the Items

If the client accepts CEL’s offer for the items, we schedule collection of the items. A check for the agreed upon amount is given on the date the items are collected. If the entire estate is purchased, then the home is left empty and broom swept.

What Is an Estate Buyout?

An estate buyout involves the direct purchase of an entire estate—or select assets—by Comprehensive Estate Liquidations, LLC. Following expert evaluation, we present a fair market offer informed by current market conditions and buyer demand.

Upon acceptance, payment is made promptly, assets are professionally removed, and the residence is left cleared and orderly. Our approach provides clarity, speed, and control without the logistical demands of a public sale.

Assets Commonly Included in Buyouts

Estate buyouts typically involve items of established market value, including:

  • Fine jewelry and precious metals
  • Art, sculpture, and limited-edition works
  • Antiques and period furnishings
  • Designer and high-quality furniture
  • Decorative objects and curated collections
  • Select electronics and specialty items

Items of personal or sentimental significance are always handled with care and respect. We provide guidance to ensure clients retain what matters most while liquidating assets appropriately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers for Sellers

Have questions? We are here to help. Still have questions or can't find the answer you need? Give us a call at 310-935-0688 today!

  • I only have one or two valuable pieces. Can you still help?
Yes, if they're in our categories. Send us photos of the pieces, such as art, jewelry, or antiques, and we'll tell you whether we'd make an offer or recommend auction placement.
  • Do you buy individual household items, like a couch, TV, or dishes?
No. We don't purchase individual household items on their own. Household contents are included only when we're purchasing an entire estate. For a few everyday items, a local consignment shop or online marketplace is usually your best option.
  • Will my information stay confidential?
Yes. Privacy is central to how we work with families, executors, and fiduciaries.
  • What if a buyout isn't the best option for my estate?
We'll say so plainly and recommend an alternative, such as an estate sale or auction placement, so you get the best result.
  • What types of items do you buy?
Antiques, fine art, fine jewelry, high-end designer goods, and high-end vintage goods. If we purchase an entire estate, we'll also take the household contents.

How to Prepare for an Estate Buyout

An estate buyout can feel overwhelming when you’re balancing timelines, emotions, and logistics. A few simple steps can make your appointment smoother and help you get the most accurate offer possible—without requiring you to “stage” the home or sort everything in advance.

Helpful steps to take before we arrive:

  • Photograph the standout pieces: Antiques, art, jewelry, and designer items help us give you the most accurate offer.
  • Set aside personal keepsakes first: Photos, family documents, heirlooms, and items with sentimental value are easiest to identify before outside parties are involved.
  • Gather any available paperwork: If you have it, include appraisals, provenance, purchase receipts, or a brief note about brand names and materials (especially for fine jewelry, collectibles, or designer goods).
  • Don’t throw things away “to tidy up”: Everyday-looking items can still have resale value (and discarding items may complicate the overall valuation). We can assess contents as-is.
  • Make access easy: Unlocking garages, sheds, or storage rooms—and ensuring safe walkways—helps us evaluate everything efficiently.
  • Tell us about deadlines upfront: Probate schedules, escrow closings, landlord turnover dates, or HOA restrictions in Los Angeles can all impact timing. We’ll tailor the plan to your window.

What we may ask during your consultation:

  • Are there any items that are excluded from the sale?
  • Is the property owner-occupied, vacant, or in probate?
  • Are there stairs, limited parking, or elevator/permit constraints?
  • Do you need a same-day decision or a short review period?

Our goal is to make this easier: you shouldn’t have to coordinate multiple pickups, negotiate with strangers, or manage weeks of uncertainty. With a clear plan and a straightforward walkthrough, many clients find that an estate buyout is the quickest way to turn household contents into a clean, manageable next step.
